We invite you to the seminar as part of the program
"The Now-for-Next"

The main ideas that will be presented by Margherita Spagnuolo Lobb at this seminar are described in her book -

"The Now-for-Next" in Psychotherapy. Gestalt Therapy Recounted in Post Modern Society (2013)

держась за руки

Although sexuality as a relational fact is well-studied in therapy and its related ethical standards are quite clear, love, as a phenomenon familiar to everyone, describes certain difficulties - especially when it comes to the love of a patient or therapist.

Do we feel love for our patients?

How common are the words “Do you love me?” sound in our offices.

Patients are extremely distrustful that the person to whom they pay money can love them - especially at the beginning of therapy, when they are overwhelmed by what the therapist notices about them.

They fear that the therapist's ability to see the good in them

(although they subsequently recognize this good in themselves and deeply suffer from its presence) -

it is just a technique, a therapeutic trick, with no sincere feeling behind it.

It seems that the therapist's love for the client has two forms: love that is conditioned by the role of the therapist and love that arises spontaneously during the contact.

The psychology of love is not universal
and we wish psychology could help us to love, but this is impossible.

Psychology of relationships only helps us to notice ourselves and others.

The love of the client should not be doubted either:

This is a reality, a certain loyalty in various therapeutic situations.

The client gives the therapist access to his intimate history with the intention of future contact, which involves the completion of previous open "gestalts" with the other person:

So we can talk about the “institutional aspect” of the client’s “love”: simply because a person is a client and puts himself “into the hands” of the therapist, which leads to the emergence of a potential “love” attachment.

How does this relationship work in therapy?

We invite you to learn about this at our seminar!
